Y dreams??

Dreams are pictures, sounds and feelings that
happen during sleep. In the course of history people
have had many explanations for dreams. In
ancient Greece dreaming was thought to be a
kind of contact with the gods. Sometimes they
were regarded as signs of what may happen in
the future.
T H E O R I E S  O F  D R E A M I N G
Over the past many dream theories have emerged. The most famous expert on dreaming
was Sigmund Freud, an Austrian doctor . At the end of the 19th century he found
out that a part of our brain is the subconscious . Our mind keeps everything that we
might want but cannot have there. It is a place where we keep our desires and wishes .
In dreams we act out these wishes.
D R E A M S A N D S L E E P
Our sleep is divided into five stages. In the first stage we do not sleep very deeply and
we wake up easily. During the following stages our sleep gets deeper and deeper. After
the fourth stage REM (Rapid Eye Movement) sleep begins. During this phase our
heart rate and breathing gets faster . Blood pressure goes up and the brain starts to
work but the body does not . That is why we don’t act out our dreams because the
body is inactive.
Most dreaming occurs in this phase. There can be up to seven such REM phases in
one night .
 H A P P E N S  I N  D R E A MS
Dreaming is an activity of the brain. It produces electrical waves which can be measured
with an electroencephalograph . Dreams occur when
brain waves are especially fast.
Everyone dreams. If you think that you never dream, you are
wrong . Most of the time we cannot remember our dreams.
Theorists say that we dream mostly about the thoughts and
wishes that we repress . Others say that if dreaming is not so
intense it is difficult to remember them anyway. Another reason
may be that dreams are never the same , they have to
be repeated in order for us to remember them.
Most people cannot control their dreams , they just happen. Very few people experience
lucid dreaming. They can control what happens in their dreaming while they are
asleep.
Even blind people dream. They may see images of events that they have experienced
before they became blind. On the other hand a person who was born blind does not
see pictures in dreams, but they can hear, smell and taste in them.
People often have the same dreams over and over again. They may be events in your
life that have caused problems which you have not solved yet. Nightmares are dreams
that are so terrible that you usually wake up. There is medical treatment for nightmares
. You can go to a therapists who tries to find out why you have nightmares and how to deal with them
C O M M O N D R E A M S
Some experts think that dreams are full of symbolic messages that mean something
which is deep inside us. Here are a few popular dreams and how you could interpret
them:
 Being naked in public
In a dream we sometimes realize that we are
completely naked. This may mean that there
is something to hide.
 Falling
Almost everyone has experienced falling from
a place high up. Then suddenly they wake up.
This may mean that something is out of control and you cannot stop it. It also
may mean that you have failed in something that you have done, like your work
or at school.
 Being chased
Many people dream of someone chasing them, a very frightening dream. It symbolizes
running away from problems that you may have.
 Flying
Flying dreams often mean that you are in control of things. You are very strongwilled
and can observe everything . It is often a symbol of having success.(Source Internet)

Teeth - How To Keep Them Healthy

As long as parents care for the health of their children’s teeth they will make sure that they are checked every six months but as children get older it is up to them to look after their teeth. Here are some easy suggestions on how to keep your teeth in good shape.

  • Use an electric toothbrush. It can remove food and other things better than a toothbrush.
  • Use fluoride toothpaste and brush your teeth especially where they meet the gum.
  • After that use dental floss and go around each tooth. This will get rid of any food that is still left between your teeth.
  • Use a mouthwash and gargle for about 30 seconds ,or you could use salty water to clean your mouth.
  • Be careful about the food you eat. Don’t overdo it with chocolate, energy bars or candy. Eat more vegetables and fruit.
  • Toothbrush and Toothpaste are important for healthy teethRed wine, fruit juices and vinegar on salad can harm your teeth and destroy tooth enamel .
  • Do not crack nuts, chew pencils or open bottle caps with your teeth.
Visit the dentist regularly. They have everything they need to check out your teeth and find holes or other problem spots .
There are connections between bad teeth and heart disease or strokes. If you find or feel something unusual go to the dentist right away.

Hiroshima and Nagasaki - Japan Surrenders

In 1939 German born scientist

Albert Einstein

informed US president

Franklin D. Roosevelt

about the possibility of making a super bomb that would cause an explosion that nobody had ever seen before. Large amounts of energy could be released by splitting an atom. Einstein and other scientists were afraid that the Germans could develop such a bomb first. In 1942 the Americans set up the Manhattan Project, a secretdesert in July 1945. program to make such a bomb. The first atomic bomb was tested in the New Mexican
Location of Hiroshima and Nagasaki
Even though the United States was winning the war against Japan some generals thought that they would have to invade the island nation to defeat the Japanese. Experts thought that hundreds of thousands of American soldiers might die in such an attack.

After the death of Franklin D. Roosevelt , Harry Truman became president. He learned about the successful test of the bomb. In July 1945 Truman warned the Japanese that the United States would destroy the country with a powerful bomb if they did not surrender at once. In spite of the warning Japan continued fighting.
On August 6,1945 an American bomber called the Enola Gay dropped the first atomic bomb on the Japanese city of Hiroshima. The explosion killed about 70,000 to 100,000 people and destroyed about 13 square kilometres of land. Three days later a much larger bomb was dropped on Nagasaki. It killed about 40,000 people. Thousands of people died of injuriesradiation in the years that followed. On August 14, the Japanese government agreed to surrender. Many officers committed suicide. On September 2, 1945 World War II officially ended. and

World's fatest car

A British project to build the world’s fastest car is underway . The Bloodhound car will be constructed   to reach speeds that nobody has ever dreamed of.  The project has the aim of teaching young people science and mathematics. Richard Noble, project director, was already head of the 1997 project that set up the  current world record .
The construction of the car will begin in 2011. A year later the  supersonic car will attempt  to achieve   a new world speed record on a dry lake in South Africa.  If it succeeds , the Bloodhound car will reach a   speed of over 1,000 miles an hour, considerably   more than the current speed record of 763 miles per hour.
The Bloodhound car is designed to run by  mixture of jet and rocket engine technology. It will have the same power as 180 Formula One cars. A jet  engine will take the car up to a  speed of 300 mph then a rocket engine will be fired to do the rest.  The car will accelerate from 0 to 1,000 miles per hour in 40 seconds. The driver will have to cope with a force   of 3 g, something that can only be practiced   in airplane simulators.
The real car will be pencil-shaped, have a  length of 12 feet meters (about 42 feet) a weight of about 6 tons.   Major companies are working on the project, including Cosworth, Goodridge, Siemens and others.
Over 4,000 primary and  secondary schools in Great Britain are talking part in an educational program that is a part of the project.  It should inspire school children to study more science and math.
Richard Noble has asked  volunteers to help in the project. Currently a track is being prepared by 300 people in the Northern Cape Province in South Africa.  It must be flat and without any obstacles .    Otherwise the car may be damaged by a rock or something else that might hit it.

Have you paid a Bribe lately

If yes, then tell us about it. The fight against Corruption may well begin with simple acts of documentation. Bribe Payment Graphics

For too long we have shied away from disclosing this very personal pain that most of us have to endure. Occasionally people pay a bribe to get something done out of turn or to get things hastened up . The blame in those cases is shared squarely between the one paying bribe and the one receiving it. But in most other cases, one is forced to pay a bribe because there is no other  alternative but to forgo the requested service. All we then do is to pay silently and forget about it,that Corruption is a problem that has to be dealt with expeditiously.

“This blog aspires not just to become a forum for discussion to vent pent up anger. It also aims to become a means for gauging the level of corruption in society. One of the primary reasons for corruption to flourish is the utter secrecy associated with it. Everyone knows it is there but no one talks about it. Everything has got a price, they say. What if the price becomes known and the veil of secrecy is lifted? How about a live rate chart for bribes fueled by nationwide personal experience. Let us bring to bear the might of Social Media to unravel the corruption conundrum in India.”

Populated India

India's population rose to 1.21 billion people over the last 10 years — an increase by 181 million, according to the new census released today, but significantly the growth is slower for the first time in nine decades.
The population, which accounts for world's 17.5 per cent population, comprises 623.7 million males and 586.5 million females, said a provisional 2011 Census report. China is the most populous nation acounting for 19.4 per cent of the global population.
The country's headcount is almost equal to the combined population of the United States, Indonesia, Brazil, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Japan put together, it said.

How Smoking affects Your Health

There are no physical reasons to start smoking. The body doesn't need tobacco the way it needs food, water, sleep, and exercise. And many of the chemicals in cigarettes, like nicotine and cyanide, are actually poisons that can kill in high enough doses.
The body is smart. It goes on the defense when it's being poisoned. First-time smokers often feel pain or burning in the throat and lungs, and some people feel sick or even throw up the first few times they try tobacco.
The consequences of this poisoning happen gradually. Over the long term, smoking leads people to develop health problems like heart disease, stroke, emphysema (breakdown of lung tissue), and many types of cancer — including lung, throat, stomach, and bladder cancer. People who smoke also have an increased risk of infections like bronchitis and pneumonia.
These diseases limit a person's ability to be normally active, and they can be fatal. In the United States, smoking is responsible for about 1 out of 5 deaths.
Smokers not only develop wrinkles and yellow teeth, they also lose bone density, which increases their risk of osteoporosis (pronounced: ahs-tee-o-puh-row-sus), a condition that causes older people to become bent over and their bones to break more easily. Smokers also tend to be less active than nonsmokers because smoking affects lung power.
Smoking can also cause fertility problems and can impact sexual health in both men and women. Girls who are on the pill or other hormone-based methods of birth control (like the patch or the ring) increase their risk of serious health problems, such as heart attacks, if they smoke.
The consequences of smoking may seem very far off, but long-term health problems aren't the only hazard of smoking. Nicotine and the other toxins in cigarettes, cigars, and pipes can affect a person's body quickly, which means that teen smokers experience many of these problems:
  • Bad skin. Because smoking restricts blood vessels, it can prevent oxygen and nutrients from getting to the skin — which is why smokers often appear pale and unhealthy. Studies have also linked smoking to an increased risk of getting a type of skin rash called psoriasis.
  • Bad breath. Cigarettes leave smokers with a condition called halitosis, or persistent bad breath.
  • Bad-smelling clothes and hair. The smell of stale smoke tends to linger — not just on people's clothing, but on their hair, furniture, and cars. And it's often hard to get the smell of smoke out.
  • Reduced athletic performance. People who smoke usually can't compete with nonsmoking peers because the physical effects of smoking (like rapid heartbeat, decreased circulation, and shortness of breath) impair sports performance.
  • Greater risk of injury and slower healing time. Smoking affects the body's ability to produce collagen, so common sports injuries, such as damage to tendons and ligaments, will heal more slowly in smokers than nonsmokers.
  • Increased risk of illness. Studies show that smokers get more colds, flu, bronchitis, and pneumonia than nonsmokers. And people with certain health conditions, like asthma, become more sick if they smoke (and often if they're just around people who smoke). Because teens who smoke as a way to manage weight often light up instead of eating, their bodies also lack the nutrients they need to grow, develop, and fight off illness properly.

Why do we fall in Love

Loving and being loved adds richness to our lives. When people feel close to others they are happier and even healthier. Love helps us feel important, understood, and secure.
But each kind of love has its own distinctive feel. The kind of love we feel for a parent is different from our love for a baby brother or best friend. And the kind of love we feel in romantic relationships is its own unique type of love.

Our ability to feel romantic love develops during adolescence. Teens all over the world notice passionate feelings of attraction. Even in cultures where people are not allowed to act on or express these feelings, they're still there. It's a natural part of growing up to develop romantic feelings and sexual attractions to others. These new feelings can be exciting — or even confusing at first.

The Truth about Guy's

Many people think of guys as being carefree when it comes to their appearance. But the reality is that a lot of guys spend plenty of time in front of the mirror. It's a fact — some guys care just as much as girls do about their appearance.
You may hear a lot about being a tough guy, but how often do you hear that being a guy is tough? Guys might think that they shouldn't worry about how they look, but body image can be a real problem for them. Unlike girls, guys are less likely to talk to friends and relatives about their bodies and how they're developing. Without support from friends and family, they may develop a negative self-image. The good news is that self-image and body image can be changed.

What is Crush?

Just as our bodies grow as we get older, so do our feelings. They change and mature as we become preteens, teenagers, and adults. A crush is a word used to describe special feeling you have for another person, a classmate, or friend that you really like.
Noticing your first crush is an exciting time in life because you're beginning to understand how it feels to like another person — a lot!
Sometimes, feelings for a crush can be confusing because they're new to you and you aren't sure how to act. You could have mixed feelings. When you see your crush, a part of you might feel embarrassed and you might want to run away and hide. Another part of you might imagine your crush noticing you and sharing the same feelings.
Crushes are a little bit like the romantic love adults feel toward one another. And in a way, a crush can help us think about the kind of person that we want to love when we grow up. They help us understand which qualities we notice and like in another person — and maybe a few that we don't like.
